Our IsItUp Home Version provides the average person an inexpensive way to monitor the status of a home network. If you own multiple PCs, you have probably set up a local area network (LAN) in your home so your computers could talk to each other. Many folks these days have bought an inexpensive wireless router, a few ethernet cards, and set up a small home network. With your computers connected, you can:
The procedure below will help you set up IsItUp to make sure your home network is up and running.
Precondition - IsItUp Home should already be installed on your primary IsItUp computer.
Make a list of all of the IP addresses for each of the devices on your home network. Use IPConfig, your router management software, or other tools to create the list.
Next, you will be setting up IP device monitors to monitor your each of the devices on your home network.
Step 1 - Setup IP Device Monitors on IsItUp
On IsItUp, select "Setup / IP Monitor" off of the menu.
In the dialog box (above), identify the device for an IP device you identified in the list you made above:

Press "Next" and follow through the wizard to configure notification options.
Step 2 - Repeat Step 1 for each of the devices on your list.
Step 3 - Let IsItUp monitor your Home Network
Sit back and relax. If any of your network devices goes down, IsItUp will know. If you have selected a notification option, such as a beeper notification, you'll be notified. When you discover an outage, use IsItUp's statistics and reports to analyze where the failure occurred.
